What is an EICR?
An EICR is an electrical installation condition report that identifies defects, deterioration or damage to electrical installations.
Fixed write testing is a legal requirement and is governed by the IET Wiring Regulations. Relevant precautions must be taken to prevent the risk of death and personal injury to employees, therefore an EICR will help you to prevent your obligations in this regard. An EICR is also required to validate your business insurance. With improved energy-efficiency, this type of report can highlight areas of your business that can reduce your carbon footprint, make savings by way of lighting and heating.
An EICR should be carried out at least every five years or at the end of a tenancy (whichever comes first).
Our periodic testing and inspection service includes:
- Visual and physical checks of fixed wire and portable appliance testing
- Identification of defective electrical circuits
- Earthing, bonding and wiring to IET regulations
- Risks to fire or shock
- Regulatory and legislative compliance
- PAT Testing
- Report to ascertain how to bring the installation to the latest regulations
- EICR Report
- Landlord Electrical Safety Certificates
EICR
Electrical testing ensures that an electrical installation meets regulatory standards. Our NICEIC approved electricians in Essex and Herts provide a professional and reliable service when carrying out each testing and inspection to ensure that all electrical systems in place are fully compliant with the latest requirements and regulations. Given that it is now a mandatory requirement to have an electrical inspection condition report (EICR) on any business premises, rented domestic or commercial property, we offer a fully comprehensive service on this aspect.
We use the latest equipment to trace electrical faults, run diagnostics and provide a comprehensive report detailing any faults and recommendations for remedial works.
Electrical installations over time may become overloaded and outdated, which is why it is imperative to ensure that electrical testing and inspections are carried out periodically. Undergoing the testing and inspection process to obtain an electrical inspection condition report (EICR) ensures that each building and property is protected against potential risks where preventative action can be taken to rectify any electrical issue.
Insurance companies place an obligation on businesses to carry out testing and inspections to ensure insurance policies do not become invalid, these. We provide annual electrical inspection reports for businesses and residential clients including landlords. Our competitively priced service encompasses checks to periodic electrical inspections, landlord certificates and installation certificates.
